Nepal Government has set a target to bring two million tourists by year 2020, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has planned to organize ‘Visit Nepal Year’ in 2020 to attract more tourists to the country.
Tourism is valued as one of the major contributors to Nepal economy. The objective of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 is to promote ‘Destination Nepal’ among international travelers. Additionally, the campaign also seeks to engage more locals in the field of tourism and improve livelihoods. People can experience the culture, heritage, nature and adventure in Nepal. Nepal has 10 UNESCO listed world heritage sites ( Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Changunarayan, Lumbini, Chitwan National Park, Sagarmatha National Park). Eight of the world’s fourteen 8000 meters mountain are also located in Nepal along with the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. Several protected area and national parks offers various choices of adventure and explore to the visitors.

Nepal government and Nepali tourism industry are taking every step to ensure that visitors will have the best time during “Visit Nepal Year 2020“.
